It kicks-off from 6-8pm on Friday 11 November with an open-to-all wee shindig, complete with mulled wine and mince pies. Hmmm, sounds suspiciously Christmassy. A full six weeks before Christmas. Ach well, might as well start as you mean to go on…

The third annual Fabric of the Land exhibition is underway. Seeking to explore the links between art and science, the theme of this year’s show is “Elements” and features 68 creative works by artists from around the UK. It’s also a good excuse to have a nose around the university (especially the new library building, which opens next month) before the students arrive…

Yez indeed. It’z hard to rezizt the temptation to zwap every “S” for a “Z” but I shall try…

It’s a new exhibition at Project Slogan, you can see who’s involved on the rather natty poster featuring a surprised/scary cat/panther below. The eagle-eyed among you may also notice the name of anCnoc whisky on there too, which means there just might be the chance to have a wee sample of their wares at the opening on Friday while you check out the show. Or zhow. Or zomething…

Moving from its previous home in Belmont Street, alternative arts, crafts and design fair Tea Cosy hits Rosemount as part of the area’s Winter Weekend. The quality of stuff on offer at these events is usually amazing, so it’s the perfect place for some Christmas shopping (listen to me, all weekend supplement-like).

There’s the added bonus of a pop-up print shop from Peacock Visual Arts too, I’m also prepared to bet that fake snow on the windows will not be needed to create a genuine ‘wintry’ vibe. We appear to have that covered…
