    Wednesday 31 October | The Tunnels | £9/£7adv  Tickets

Another stellar Interesting Music Promotions show, and another chance for you to see it for free, read on..

Welsh weirdos Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci were true unsung heroes of the 90s, way ahead of the curve at the time. You should buy their records. As an aside, take a look at this gloriously old-school website I found about them. Freeserve eh?  Them were the days…

Anyway, former frontman of the aforementioned band Euros Childs now has a killer line in off-kilter pop as a solo artist (as well as taking time out to team up with Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake last year and release the excellent Jonny album). In his own words it’s ”pop music with a bit of folk music thrown in, sometimes synthesizers are used, sometimes pianos or guitars. But it’s always rock n roll.”  He’s correct:

Support comes from harmony-laden Glasgow duo The Wellgreen, who feature Stuart Kidd, one-time member of the rolling roster of Scottish indie-pop royalty that is the legendary BMX Bandits (*air-punch* another wee personal victory there, getting to mention them on this site) and Adam Stearn.

Usual drill, we’ve got a free pair of tickets to the show going, simply email your name to interestingmusic@hotmail.co.uk under the subject “Euros Childs Comp” before midday  on Tuesday 30 October for a chance to get your mitts on them.

We’ll notify the winner soon after.

Please note this show takes place on Halloween, so I’ll personally buy a beer for everyone that turns up dressed as Mark or Mike from Interesting Music Promotions :)

    Good luck!
