Wednesday 10 October | The Tunnels | 7.30pm | £5
As well as having one of the best band names in the history of band names, Fat Goth’s brand of full-on, skewed rock music seems to be causing a bit of a stir at the moment. Unbelievably, this is the first time they’ve played Aberdeen, despite the fact they’re from just down the road in Dundee. They killed it a packed Market Bar (which, to be fair, is the tiniest venue I’ve ever been in) at GoNorth in Inverness earlier this year and have rather conveniently put out a free single today ahead of a new album due in January:
They’re also in session on Vic Galloway’s BBC Scotland show tonight (Monday 8 October) from 8pm, Update: Listen again here.
Support comes in the shape of psychedelic Japanese post-punks Tacobonds, Aberdeen’s ramshackle scuzz merchants Min Diesel (they’ve been on this site a few times, and keep getting better) and new local outfit CAAPS.
