    Saturday 16 June | Snafu |  7pm | £5  Tickets

Snafu hosts the final date of this four-band, four-gig jaunt round the UK in celebration of a rather sexy-looking split 12″ to be released on Edinburgh’s superb Song, By Toad Records.  Regular readers (who, quite frankly, should get out more) may recognise a couple of the names from being featured on here before, like this show we previewed back  in January for example.  Anyway, Glasgow-based noisy, poppy, grungy outfit PAWS wear their early-90s Stateside influences on their sleeves (in the best way possible that is), they’ve also recently signed to Brighton-based collectors of Scottish talent FatCat Records, so expect to be hearing a lot more from them in the future.

We’ve also mentioned ramshackle Stonehaven pop duo DOLFiNZ a fair bit too, and it’s safe to say they keep getting better.  If you haven’t seen them yet, well, here’s your chance.  Right, on to the bands you may not be so familiar with, both of whom hail from Manchester:

Waiters have been described by VICE as “My Bloody Valentine and The Velvet Underground all f***ing each other”, and there is indeed more than a wee bit of those two in there, make up your own mind though:

…and the fabulously-named Sex Hands seem to have a nice line in off-kilter, scuzzy, jangly pop:

So, there you go;  get down, buy the record, listen to the bands and have a beer or three.  Oh, and as it’s at Snafu on a Saturday, get there sharpish as it’ll probably all be over by 10/10.30ish so they can re-open the club for dancing purposes later…
