Music: Is It Just Me?

Well, is it? Is the North-East’s music scene finally starting to get the recognition it deserves? For those of you who (understandably) can’t be arsed with the needless drama that is social media, two things happened this week which you may have missed, two things which bode well for the future.
Stanley had a session on Vic Galloway’s show on BBC Scotland, and it was utterly triumphant:
You can download it from the always excellent Peenko blog here
…and Lockah, from Tuff Wax, had a tune from his forthcoming EP (on Mad Decent imprint Jefrees) streaming on Pitchfork, which is kind of a big deal.
Small steps in the right direction, and just a couple of examples of what we all know is bubbling under up here.
Naturally, some of your mates will still claim that everything is “shite” in this town.
Tell them to get to f**k…
