Credit where it’s due, let’s have a big thumbs up for our endlessly self-flagellating, cost-cutting local council for not making us hit a freezing Castlegate in order to listen to Sandi ‘F***ing’ Thom. Well done.  As an aside, aspiring journalists should check out Miss Thom’s column in the Evening Express, the sound of Joseph Pulitzer spinning in his grave may well be the loudest thing you’ll hear all year.  Stunning stuff…

Party wise, we could do worse than point you towards The Tunnels where the always entertaining Super Six Funk Machine are doing their thing as part of a two-room Hogmanay do (9pm, £10) or head down to Snafu where Daft Punk-affiliated French DJ /producer Alan Braxe should cause appropriate carnage (11pm/£16).

Thanks to everyone who’s supported the site this year, especially those who’ve taken the time to tell us personally or through emails etc . It means a lot,  that sort of thing keeps us going.  As always, feel free to contact us if you fancy writing/doing something for us. Happy New Year everyone. Aberdeen rules.

yes indeed! have a great 2010 – and it’s going to be onwards and upwards.
I’d like to add, that it’s not just ACC that have failed miserably to sort the ice & snow on the streets in Scotland… wink wink. (and a ho ho ho!)

I know, I know, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel having a go at ACC and Sandi Thom. If anything though the pavements in Edinburgh were even worse when I was down yesterday. Impossible as that may sound…
